University of Denver The Center for the Teaching of International Relations offers an M.A. in International Studies and Curriculum Development through the School of Education. CTIR is nationally known for its work to improve the teaching of international and intercultural studies at the pre-collegiate level. University of Denver The M.A. and Ph.D. in International Studies includes concentrations in global conflict, human rights, international economics, policy analysis, international politics, and other relevant fields. Earlham School of Religion The program grants a M.A., M.Div., and a M.Min. in Peace and Justice Studies through the religious studies curriculum. The Peace and Justice concentration is supplemented by the interdepartmental Peace and Global Studies program at Earlham College. Eastern Mennonite University Granting an M.A. in Conflict Analysis and Transformation, this innovative program stresses personal wholeness, social justice, reconciliation, and the nonviolent transformation of conflict. These ideals are sought through a combination of core and interdisciplinary course work, and an extensive 8-12 month field experience, culminating in an integrative capstone seminar. Field work is often coordinated through the program's Institute for Conflict Studies and Peacebuilding, which maintains links with organizations in Nairobi, Kenya and Bogota, Colombia. Center for Peace Studies EPU offers postgraduate programs in peace studies ranging from the 3-month certificate program to the 18-month M.A. program. Programs emphasize conflict resolution and peaceful development and include a strong skills component. Faculty and students are drawn from all parts of the world with about half of all students coming from developing countries. The EPU offers an annual term in Spain at the Universitat Jaume I and is developing terms at the University of Limerick, Ireland, and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, in addition to those at the Centre in Austria. George Mason University The Institute (ICAR) offers both a doctoral and a master's program in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Both provide advanced training in the theory of conflict and conflict resolution, together with practical applications through a clinical component. Other ICAR activities include: research on the theory of protracted conflict and its resolution, with an emphasis on cross-cultural disputes; consultancy and applied intermediary work; and community outreach and service. In addition, the Consortium on Peace Research, Education, Development (COPRED), the National Conference on Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution (NCPCR), and the Northern Virginia Mediation Service (NVMS) are located at the Institute. Harvard University Harvard's Program on Negotiation coordinates a Specialization in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution open to students in graduate or professional schools in the Boston area. Through an introductory course, internships, and other activities, the Specialization allows students to integrate training in negotiation and dispute resolution with their regular course of study, regardless of their field or discipline. Harvard University The Program on Nonviolent Sanctions in Conflict and Defense is a research program within Harvard University's Center for International Affairs and conducts research on the nature and potential of nonviolent sanctions in conflict and defense. University of Hawaii Program seeks to bring together theories and methodologies of political science, social science, the humanities, and law with the skills and techniques of dispute resolution, particularly mediation and conciliation. The goal is to give the student an understanding of the dynamics of conflict resolution from comparative, historical, and theoretical perspectives. University of Hawaii The International Cultural Studies Program focuses on the emergence of supra-national configurations such as "Asia/Pacific" and "the new Europe" and how such entities pose challenges to the boundaries and identities of both local communities and nation-states. University of Idaho The Martin Institute was founded in 1978 to promote research, teaching and public debate on peace ad and conflict resolution. The Institute is concerned with the conditions of peace and the political and socieconomics causes of conflict, violence, terrorism, and war. While, the Institute itself does not offer any graduate degrees, students enrolled in the traditional departments such as political science, sociology, law, environmental studies may work with one of the Faculty Fellows or Associates based at the Martin Insitute in designing their own graduate study programs in peace and conflict resolution. The Institute also offers advanced level training in conflict resolution. Iliff School of Theology Illif's M.A. in Religion or M.A. in Divinity offers a concentration on the religious tradition of justice and peace, social change, and ministries for justice and peace. Study is directed in the context of both scripture/tradition, and pertinent social analyses such as political theory and economics. Students are encouraged to develop personal insight as well as thoughtful critiques of the challenges to social justice in order to be effective in peace and justice work. University of Illinois ACDIS is a non-advocacy program that was founded in 1978 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to facilitate and coordinate teaching, research, and public debate on issues of international conflict, security, and peace. While pursuing traditional fields of graduate study, students work closely with ACIDS and can apply for grants from the program. Incarnate Word College The goals of this Master's Program are to analyze the interrelatedness of global and community issues in the area of social justice. The degree may be combined with another graduate discipline, or a minor in Peace and Justice Studies may be obtained as part of a Master's program in another department. Institute of Social Studies, The Hague ISS offers Diploma (6-month) and Masters Degree (15-month) programs focused on interdisciplinary analysis of contemporary global development. de la Pau Write or call for information. Irish School of Ecumenics In association with Trinity College, Dublin, the Centre offers a one-year M.Phil postgraduate program in Peace Studies. Assessment is by essays and dissertation over a broad range of core and optional modules including International Politics, Politics of Development, Ethics in International Affairs, Conflict Resolution and Nonviolence. A particular aim is to integrate the political, cultural, and economic aspects of peace studies and to address the ethical and philosophical questions that underlie the processes of conflict and peacemaking. University of Kent The Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Kent offers Masters and Doctoral programs in International Conflict Analysis. The Masters program is a one year program that concludes with a comprehensive examination and a thesis. The doctoral program requires a Masters degree or its equivalent.
